Description
1 Primary 1 Secondary 42" in (end cap to end cap)
BEA’s SUPERSCAN-T INDUSTRIAL is an active infrared sensor designed for use in industrial environments that require presence and/or safety detection. This sensor can be used on automatic industrial doors, gates and industrial automation applications.
The SUPERSCAN-T INDUSTRIAL uses triangulation to detect the presence of an object, eliminating false detections caused by varying ground and environmental conditions.
In an industrial setting, this versatile sensor can be mounted stationary or on a moving object. Additionally, the SUPERSCAN-T INDUSTRIAL can be used as an individual module or daisy chained with up to 8 secondary modules (9
total modules). This flexibility allows the SUPERSCAN-T INDUSTRIAL to be used on both narrow and wide doors and many other off door applications. Each module detection zone can be angled independently.
- Fit to the application
Housing available up to 96 inches; can be field-cut to desired door width - User-defined detection zones
Detection zone of 24 to 96 inches - Adjustable detection zone
Can be set to background analysis mode to reduce the change of false detection
from faulty environmental situations - Standards compliant
Capable of external monitoring
What do the jumpers do?
See “Mechanical Adjustments” section of the User’s Guide.
Why does the SUPERSCAN-T only detect when I’m standing on a ladder?
Ensure that the SUPERSCAN-T is mounted in the correct orientation (lens is facing down).
Why does the door recycle open?
The SUPERSCAN-T is detecting too far down. Adjust the range by turning the potentiometer located in between the lenses; each click represents about 4″.
Which terminals power the SUPERSCAN-T?
Terminals 7 and 8
Why is the SUPERSCAN-T behaving as if it is wired normally closed but I have it wired normally open?
The SUPERSCAN-T changes relay state on power up. For normally open operation, use terminals 5 and 6, and for normally closed operation, use terminals 4 and 6.
What adjustments can be made on the SUPERSCAN-T?
There are 3 basic mechanical adjustments:
1. Tilt angle is adjusted using the white clips in the housing.
2. Detection width is adjusted left or right by sliding the white clips in the housing.
3. Detection height is adjusted by turning the screw that moves the lenses closer together or farther apart.
